Yep, that’s me, and that picture was taken on Whitsundays back when I was living ‘down under’ in Australia. The place where I first started to work remotely.

I love to travel. And although the travel part of my life started long before Australia, I felt that at the ripe age of 28 I had absorbed all of the skills that I could from my previous management job roles and now was the time to quit in order to pursue what makes me happy….travel.

What profession now affords me this kind of lifestyle you ask? Well, I don’t really have a ‘profession’ par say, but I do have some skills under my belt to help me live my best life.

I learnt to build websites. I took some courses in digital marketing. I even dabbled in some social media content creation classes, even though I can’t stand social media…

I learnt these because I knew it would set me up with the skills to work for myself, and work from any location with an internet connection.

And before you ask, no I didn’t go to college or university to learn these skills. These were all self-taught through online courses like Udemy and youtube videos mostly. These online courses have taught me just about everything I needed to know over the past 9 years.

The reason I am telling you this is because I want everyone to know that I am not special. I am in many ways exactly the same as you. Although I do have a drive to make money online, this doesn’t set me apart from anyone else.

Anyone can learn what I know. Anyone can do what I do. This is the most exciting part…

And you can achieve a similar ‘better life design’ by taking the plunge and learning something new yourself with the help of this blog.

ricky wallace better life design

This blog is intended to inspire change. What I mean by this is, to change your personal circumstances so that you can pursue what makes you happy too.

What happiness is for each of us will vary wildly. Whether it’s long-term travel, working for yourself doing something that you love, or simply having more time on your hands so that you can spend it doing the things that you enjoy (family, hobbies etc), a change in circumstance can create that better life design for you.

I write a lot about my experiences travelling and I also write about my experiences making money online – two things that I am very passionate about (ok, maybe 4 things if you include writing and helping others…)

Hopefully, you can find some inspiration from my blog and dive headfirst into the great unknown, so you can start creating a better lifestyle, travel, work…or whatever else.

Don’t just think about taking action – do it 🙂
